Authentication essentially confirms your
identity, and that the Working Web server is providing valid
information.
There are two parts in the authentication process. The first part is
by the Secure Socket Layer (SSL). The Secure Socket Layer uses
digital certificates to confirm with your Web browser that the Web
server you are accessing is in fact the Web server. The second part
involves your User ID and Password. This ensures your account
information is only provided to the correct User ID and
corresponding Password. An incorrect User ID or password will result
in failure to access your account information.
